SLSGB Beach Lifeguard & ISA Level 1. Old hand Jakey Boy, is another Grom that came through the ranks. Just graduated with a degree in Journalism, we expect big thinks from Jake. An infectious enthusiasm for all thinks surfing, and an ever present cheeky chappie vibe, make Jake a great asset to our team. Jake is also our reigning 2018 Pasta Eating Champion.
Sophie looks after the shop and our busy surf school, but on lovely summer days, will always find a reason to jump in the water and “help” the instructors, or claim “product testing” of the latest wetsuit. Super organised, Sophie is an oasis of calm in a very busy environment, who keeps us all in check. A fan of vintage Minis, and builder of wood fired pizza ovens.....
Jemma is currently studying Event Management at Liverpool Uni, so her organisational skills are much appreciated as part of a busy surf school. Business minded, but quietly creative, our Jems also has a keen eye for detail, and loves to share her "passion for fashion" with our customers, talking them through the extensive range of beach lifestyle fashion we stock. Whatever the look, Jems will help you find it, with a wicked sense of humour and an honest opinion....."yes, your bum does look big in that".
No website should be complete without a picture or two of dogs. So we give you two of the finest chocolate labs – Jumby and Beau. Mother and daughter.
Jake Allix – Instructor. SLSGB, ISA Level 1. Trying to avoid "real life" after graduating with a BSc in Product Design, Jake is never happier than when in the water. In the winter the Sri Lankan surf calls, and in the summer he shares his passion with our Groms.
Young Flinn is a fan of vintage clothing and a font of all knowledge. Flinn also started with us as a Grom* and is a qualified SLSGB Beach Lifeguard, and ISA Level 1 Instructor. His domain in the summer is our hire yard and he organises all our wetsuits and surfboards with pride and precision. A place for everything and everything in it’s place. Bit of a ledge is our Flinn....
SLSGB Beach Lifeguard & ISA Level 1. Tom is an artist, musician and a true creative. Another local boy who lives in the bay and surfed all his life. He has travelled with his surfboard extensively across Australia, Asia and Indonesia. The boy can surf, skate and do pretty good handstands to, but he’s an artist, so we have to keep him focussed. His parents asked him to jet wash their deck once….
Having grown up in the bay, Hannah is a qualified beach lifeguard, but likes to be in the shop meeting people, taking photos and looking after our instagram and FB pages. Another creative, she has a degree in Graphic Design from Falmouth Uni, and is currently floating around the Med on various yacht deliveries. She pops into the shop occasionally to "work", but we will see where her beautiful imagination takes her....
George Willmott – Instructor. SLSGB. In the winter George plays Rugby for Jersey Reds professionally, and in the summer he surfs. He’s a big kid whose sense of fun makes him always popular with our Summer Camps. George came through our Summer Camps as a Grom* and is now a qualified Surf Instructor. He likes to eat to and don’t challenge him to an arm wrestle.
